BEERTIQUE PRESENTS: BREWDOG & PIRATE LIFE

Separated by hemispheres, but brought closer by Beertique – the classic Scotsmen of BrewDog complement the Southern Australian wonder; Pirate Life. Featuring Beertiques iconic international brewing flavour, these two unique breweries deliver an unexpectedly harmonious balance of regional malts, hops and flavour profiles that will tempt even the most one-eyed Kiwi palate!

Beer Baroness

Borne of Christchurch, the Baroness is known as a brewing institution in her own right. Beer Baroness is well established and continues to go from strength to strength filling fridges with bold styles with wide reaching appeal.  The Baroness showcases her classic best sellers, but the real prize is their annual festival release – a must try!

SOUTHPAW BREWING CO

Southpaw creates unique and well-made beers by pairing hops and malt from around the world with those from Aotearoa. They seek to showcase their local flavours while paying tribute to some of the world’s most popular beer styles.

TWO THUMB BREWING CO

All our beers are small batch brewed with fantastic pure Canterbury water. They are unfiltered and have no additives, to show off the wonderful flavours and aromas of the malts and hops.

SCOUNDRELS & ROGUES

Scoundrels and Rogues are boutique cider producers from North Canterbury, making a range of unique barrel ciders from whole fruit and in a traditional style. They have recently been tinkering with Craft Beer production to complement their cider range, aiming for the full whack of Criminally Good Drinks.

LITTLE CREATURES

Little Creatures Brewing – born out of the love of great beer shared by a few good mates. This small brewery began on the water’s edge in Fremantle and has since created a little family of beers. Little Creatures welcome you to share their passion for great beer, where ever you are.

EMERSON’S BREWERY

Stalwarts of the Dunedin Brewing Scene, a Kiwi Icon and a long-loved face of the GKBF, Richard Emerson and his Emerson’s Brewery team hit out with more new brews than ever!  and in the last couple of years we have added the Emerson’ Mini Bar into the mix. Most years there is a range of at least 10 new and delicious beers on tap.

HI I.Q. LIQUOR MERCHANTS

Hi IQ Liquor Merchants is a New Zealand based company that was established in 1992 by Lance Swain. He started it as a hobby, but it turned out to be bigger than he ever anticipated. Hi IQ are importers of premium spirits, beers and liqueurs, which represent 33 liquor brands from across the world. They strive to continue to source new and exciting products from around the world every year and make it available to you.

HEYDAY BEER CO

Heyday Beer Co. is a colourful brewery, bar and eatery at the heart of the capital. Heyday likes to keep things fresh, colourful and seasonal opting to flex their creativity with new beers regularly.

CASSELS & SONS BREWING CO

Cassels & Sons Brewing Co is a family owned brewery located in Woolston, Christchurch. The Cassels team are serving award-winning brews on tap, like the little rock star Milk Stout and newly released Sauvalanche – intensely hopped with an avalanche of favours that celebrate the iconic Nelson Sauvin hops. A number of sensational limited release summer beers are also pouring from their 1930’s AEC Cassels & Sons Beer Bus.

EAGLE BREWING NZ

Eagle Brewing produce a forward thinking range of beers, packed with attitude and flavour. Christchurch locals, Eagle Brewing have made regular appearances at the GKBF and are back in 2018 with a whole host of new and exciting beers for you to try!

B.EFFECT BREWING CO

Based in Wanaka, B.Effect crafts modern Central Otago beers for the mountains, the lake, and the batch. From sessionable beers to Central Otago ales made with wine yeasts. Change is their only constant, and they’re inspired by Edward Lorenz’s Butterfly Effect; ‘small changes can cause great effects’.

LAGUNITAS BREW CO

From the early days of flogging kegs off to bars and restaurants up and down the coast of California, to having the #1 IPA in the USA, Lagunitas has come a long way since the mid-90s. Founded by ‘Imperial Warlord’ Tony Magee, Lagunitas has now grown to be the 6th biggest craft beer brand in the states.

KAISER BROTHERS’ BREWERY

Great beer – drink it and thank us later! Kaiser Brothers beers aren’t confusing or pretentious. Even with their Bavarian heritage Kaiser Brothers Brewery beers are Kiwi-as, made in a genuine, full-flavoured Kiwi way. Pilsener, ESB, APA, A Special Festival Brew and Shandy will be on tap.

HARRINGTON’S BREWERIES

Harrington’s Breweries have been bringing quality fresh craft beer to the market since 1991. Creating a frenzy of exciting brews to cater to everybody, Harrington’s are ranging top of the line craft beer and fresh and exciting ciders, sure to be a crowd favourite.

EPIC BREWING COMPANY

Churning out 2-3 new beers every month means you can be sure that the Epic Brewing Company will be showcasing their freshest new brews for you to try this January! In true Epic Style, the entire team are set to take to the festival so you can meet the brewer and the entire team to talk all things Epic!

RAINDOGS BREWING CO

Raindogs Brewing is located in Christchurch and produces an outstanding range of fine beers. The best local ingredients from Canterbury and Nelson are championed in all of their beers to give a uniquely NZ vibe to the range.

Baylands Brewery

Baylands Brewery hails from Petone in Lower Hutt and creates dynamic and interesting ales with the finest artesian water from the local aquifer. Be sure to check out our wide range of ales from sours to imperial stouts.

HOP FEDERATION BREWERY

Hop Federation Brewery celebrated their incredible fifth birthday in November, and there was no stopping their party spirit – they decided to carry on the celebration through to the Great Kiwi Beer Festival. Today, Hop Federation are showcasing five brand new beers to celebrate their milestone which promise to surprise and delight.

MCLEOD’S BREWERY

McLeod’s Brewery is a small, award-winning brewery in the heart of Waipu Village. Our head brewer, Jason Bathgate, favours a range of styles all with the goal of simply being drinkable & delicious. TUATARA BREWERY

The craft brewing powerhouse and ‘Two Time Champion Brewery’ team from Tuatara Brewery have kegged their most infamous beers and flown them South to the GKBF. You’ll want to get in quick as this is sure to be a Festival favourite.

BLACK DOG BREW CO

In 2011, Black Dog Brew Co. was conjured up and cross bred in the heart of Wellington, the craft beer capital of New Zealand. Along with long-time favourite brews, Black Dog Brew Co. like to keep things limited. Sleep with one eye open, because the occasional rare breed of brew will pop up. Introducing the new breeds – experiential and permanent – get them while they’re hot!

LIBERTY BREWING

Liberty Brewing is one of the most awarded breweries in the country, run under the amazingly talented Joseph Wood and his wife Christina they have been able to develop the beers we are all enjoying on a daily basis. The real treat: Liberty beers that blow your socks off on the weekends.

RENAISSANCE BREWERY

Showcasing award winning Craft Beers from the Marlborough Brewery since 2005. Renaissance has recently changed hands – importantly, their dedicated brewery expertise has stuck around, meaning your favourite beers continue to pour with the same delicious Renaissance heritage you know and love!

PANHEAD CUSTOM ALES

New Zealand’s beer engineers. Panhead is New Zealand’s very own craft brewing monster truck rally, putting the frighteners on anyone who thinks beer should mind its own business and cower behind the wine rack. The Panhead crew love to smash a festival and this definitely ain’t their first rodeo. Rock over to our stand for a cold pint of true kiwi craft beer!

SPRIG & FERN BREWERY

At Sprig & Fern, “craft beer” means more than a quirky name or a funky bottle. It’s about combining malt, hops, innovation and precision in a way that sets apart everything they brew. With them, there are simply no preservatives and no additives added. They don’t pasteurise their beer so they don’t affect the great flavours and when you taste one.. you’ll know why. Enjoy!

GARAGE PROJECT

Garage Project is a small but growing brewery, located in an old petrol station in Wellington.  It’s an unlikely place for a brewery but the aim in the Garage is to create unique and beautiful beers.  Garage Project like pushing boundaries, reinterpreting styles and challenging the notions of what beer can be. They’re here to try something new, just like you.

BREW MOON BREWING CO

The Brew Moon Brewing Co. is a small, family-owned brewery in Amberley, North Canterbury. They’re known for using only the best Canterbury-grown malt and Nelson hops, however, sometimes they break with tradition and use other fun and delicious ingredients like herbs, spices and fruit.

THREE BOYS BREWERY

At Three Boys Brewery they personally tend each small-scale brew, right from selecting the best malt and hops until it leaves the brewery. Three Boys’ beers are a living product; not filtered and not pasteurized, just as nature intended. Their aim is simple: finest quality beer, finest possible taste.

COOPERS BREWERY

The Coopers Beer story began in a newly established colony across the Ditch with a brilliant accident. After turning his hand to a number of trades, Thomas Cooper discovered his talent as a brewer by accident; when he created his first batch of beer as a tonic for his ailing wife Ann. That day in 1862, was the start of an amazing journey. Enjoy a selection of the legendary Coopers ale range at the festival, complimented by some of the best English cider from Thatchers.

ERUPTION BREWING

Eruption Brewing is a small, locally owned brewery in the heart of historic Lyttelton making premium authentic handcrafted beers. They’re renowned for using only the best South Island ingredients, giving you a truly Lyttelton experience with every sip.

DEEP CREEK BREWING CO

From Silverdale, north of Auckland, Deep Creek Brewing Co brings Flavour Fuelled brews to the GKBF, with a line-up of new releases including an IPA from its Lupulin Effect project and a summery sour funk beer from the Steam Funk project.

BIRKENHEAD BREWING CO

Birkenhead Brewing Company is passionate about great beer. Their brewing ethos is to brew beers that showcase balance between hops and malt. Birkenhead beers are clean and bright and will leave your mouth watering for another glass.

MONTEITH’S BREWING CO

MAC’S BEER AND CIDER GARDEN

Terry, a 1981 publican wasn’t satisfied with the beers he could get for his pub, so he thought ‘what if I brewed some myself?” Being the first to apply for a brewing license in more than 50 years presented its challenges, but 35 years later, Mac’s is proud to have played a key role in the growth of NZ’s thriving beer scene!

MCCASHIN’S BREWERY

McCashin’s Brewery are back and Stoked (excuse the pun) to present their famous Stoke beers and Rochdale ciders. Plus, you’ll need to get your hands on their ever popular Wakachangi beer. Leigh Hart may make an appearance, so make sure you head over to the McCashin’s Brewery stand and try a drop or two and join in the fun.
