Brew Moon Brewing Company

The Brew Moon Brewing Company was founded in 2002, in a quiet little town called Amberley. The decision originally looked a little questionable in a region where the brown bottle reigned supreme. But with a bit of hard work, luck, and a lot of love, they made it through. They’ll be bringing their usual country hospitality to the Great Kiwi Beer Fest this year, with a delicious tap lineup and smash cheeseburgers sizzling on the grill all day.

Coopers Brewery

The Coopers beer story began in a newly established colony across the ditch with a brilliant accident. After turning his hand to a number of trades, Thomas Cooper discovered his talent as a brewer when he created his first batch of beer as a tonic for ailing wife, Ann. That day in 1862, was the start of an amazing journey. Enjoy a selection of the legendary Coopers range at the festival, complimented by some of the best English cider from Thatchers – how cider is supposed to taste!

Since 2001 they’ve been brewing great beers, driven by a liberated philosophy combining new world creativity with a proud kiwi influence. Tuatara continues to evolve and has now relocated to their new home in Brewtown in Upper Hutt, where they are excited to be part of the wider brewing community.

Beer Baroness is a little brewery with a big mission! Made by a small and passionate team right here in Ōtautahi, focussing on fun, flavour and inclusivity – Beer is for Everyone! We bring to GKBF trusty classics along with some one off festival specials.

Brewer’s Pick: Pina Colada Beer Slushy – Pineapply and Lime Sour topped with coconut foam – 5.6%

Behemoth Brewing Company – 20

Behemoth Brewing Company – bringing the fun to any festival with their big hoppy beers and fun vibes. Always creating something new, this year is sure to be zinger!

Brewer’s Pick: Chur IPA, 5.6%

Boneface Brewing Co. – 17

They make no bones about it. To brew the finest beer in the motu you’ve got to show some backbone, stick your neck out and put your shoulder to the wheel. You can feel it every time you bend an elbow with a fresh glass of Boneface. Their brewbar in Upper Hutt is a pretty hip joint too so shake a leg and come down for a knees up whenever you’re in town.

Brewer’s Pick: Snaggletooth IPA, 6%, “Take a big bite of hops on a crisp malt base and you’ve got a grapefruit and passionfruit IPA that will drive you dental”

Canyon Brewery – 12

Rooted in the spirit of adventure, sustainability, and a commitment to fun, they aim to be the go-to choice for those who seek exceptional flavours, authenticity, and a touch of humour in their craft beer experience.

Cassels Brewing Co. – 35

Cassels Brewing Co is an award-winning craft brewery based in Woolston, Christchurch which is still proudly family owned and operated. Try their famous Milk Stout, which has been crowned “World’s Best” at the World Beer Awards an impressive 4 times, plus plenty more to get into!

Double Vision Brewing simply aspires to create the kind of damn fine beer that delivers mouth parties and brings a bit of character. They take a second look at what defines a traditional style, and from there, they give the recipe boundaries a nudge. Yeah sure it might not please the Purity Police… but actually, they’re good with that.

Epic / captain’s / puhoi – 13

18 years down the track, Epic is one of the most well-known craft breweries in the country; delivering exceptional hop combinations and beer favourites in the market. Epic is a New Zealand family-owned business, with Wendy, Luke’s wife, as his right-hand woman when it comes to all things Epic. Although this brewery is small in size, with only 15 employees, they make up for it in what they produce. Epic Beer is known for its quality craft, enormous number of hops and the consistency of a truly tasty beer.

What happens when a couple of dirtbag climbers open a brewery? It’s been an epic journey, but the summit is now in view. They will keep on pushing, it’s all they know. They are punks lost in an industry of cool. this is brewing on the edge, from the ground up.

Liberty Brewing Company – 08

Bringing you big bodied beers from our small home town of Helensville. Thirst quenching then followed by the kick of hops that before you can stop yourself makes you blurt out “f**k that’s good beer”

MorningCider & Yeastie Boys – 07

Inspired to make Morningside a better place to live, and by the love of a cheeky pun, The Cider Barons & Baroness decided to make what some consider to be the most bad-ass cider in the land. Coming from the neighbourhood that always looks on the bright cider life, they’ve found the in-cider information on juicing those local apples into something very a-peel-ing. From cheeky puns right through to our tasty drops, THIS IS HOW THEY LIKE DEM APPLES.

Panhead Custom Ales – 36

Beer Bogans from Upper Hutt. Welcome to where things hit a bit different. A place where they have a crack, have a laugh and give it heaps. Home of hot-rods and Harleys, tattoos, music and brews.

Punky Distro – 01

Punky started 10 years ago as a humble beer shop in CHCH, and over the past decade have become the South Islands leading beer distro. Their festival menu for 2025 is an eclectic and esoteric tour through the most playful and festival-fun stuff from their catalogue!

Brewer’s Pick: 8 WIRED Sicilia Aperitivo Spritz Beer, 5.5%

Who doesn’t love the idea of lounging in the Sicilian sun, sipping a spritz, and ciao-ing all the locals? With tangy orange, bitter spice, and a touch of bubbles, the elements that make an Italian spritz so bellissimo are captured in this unique experimental beer. Ciao Bella!

Renaissance Brewing Company & Funk Estate – 28

Renaissance Brewing are an award winning New Zealand craft beer producer, situated in Christchurch. They produce top end, ultra-premium ales that enlighten the palate and thrill the senses. They have been producing craft beer since September 2005, and are committed to using local ingredients and are one of the pioneers of craft brewing in New Zealand. Their beers nicely showcase New Zealand hops and malt in a range of British, American and European styles.

Brewer’s Pick: Tastes like snozberries, Black Forest ice cream sour, 6.9%

Funk Estate: To put it simply, they like good beer. They’re about making brews from across the spectrum; releasing limited runs of big, bold and sometimes outrageous beers, as well as holding down a solid lineup of tasty drops. Seek them out. Stay funky.

For Rudd House Brewing, beer is about shared experiences. Inspired by science, travel and classic styles, their mission is to brew diverse, delicious, full flavoured beers with precision, heart and respect.

RYDER CYDER – 23

They are a Craft Cyder Brewery that focuses on brewing with the best fruits from around the world currently available. Their range is low carb with their Apple Cyder being Ultra Low Carb. They only use natural ingredients and don’t add anything artificial.

Scotts Brewing Co – 29

Scotts Brewing Co are excited to be back at the Great Kiwi Beer Festival. Brewing premium craft brews for over 17 years, they are well known and much loved around the South Island for their session-able brews that keep the punters coming back for more.

Two Thumb’s focus has always been good beer and good times, and they want to keep it that way. This year Two Thumb will be back with a focus on Surprise Flavours and take you on a Round The World Journey with their beers! Don’t just think German Lager.. Think outside the box!!

Wanaka Beerworks – 31

Since 1998, Wānaka Beerworks has been dedicated to crafting thoughtfully curated brews that stand out from the ordinary. Their brewery, powered by solar energy and sourcing water from their own alpine spring, produces over 100,000 litres of ‘liquid gold’ each year. As often as possible they proudly use New Zealand-grown ingredients, creating iconic beers like Brewski, beloved by locals and visitors alike.

Wilderness Brewing will be bringing a range of unique beers only available at The Great Kiwi Festival! Big dessert inspired stouts, barrel aged fruited sours and heavily hopped IPAs. Wilderness Brewing is a small independent family owned nano brewery based in Otautahi, Christchurch.

Brewer’s Pick: Imperial coffee stout aged in a bourbon barrel for 2 years served with a special foam, 9.3%

At Zeffer we make real fruit beverages from freshly crushed New Zealand fruit. Life in full flavour is what they live by and will be bringing their range of Hazy Lemonade, Hazy Ginger Beer and Cider.
